
Cassandra Joy Hume

Outside of theatre and yoga, Cassandra is a technical content writer in Manhattan, NYC.
Cassandra graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) before moving to New York City in 2001. After an early study as a ballet dancer at the Washington School of Ballet, she studied theater, acting and playwriting at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), eventually calling NYC home.
She is an avid Argentine tango dancer with a strong connection to Buenos Aires. As a yoga teacher, she fuses her passion for movement and tango, teaching Vinyasa yoga, Aerial Yoga & Restorative yoga in NYC, as well as classes & workshops for Tango dancers.

Cassandra is a Brooklyn-based writer. Her produced plays include: The Kitchen Spanish Tango, The 7 Sins of a Body-Hating Food-Lover,
A Grimm Reality (co-writer), IBID, and
The A-is-for-Abortion Play. Her work has been produced at Manhattan Theatre Source, Manhattan Repertory Theater, and FringeNYC, in addition to various festivals.
The A-is-for-Abortion Play was recently staged at Santa Barbara’s Center Stage, and a new adaptation will premiere at the Rochester Fringe Festival (September 2016).
